Choosing Oneself through the Heart

What does “choosing oneself” really mean? What a pertinent question in these destabilizing times we’re living through on both a planetary and individual level.

Choosing oneself is the 1st step back to oneself… because as long as we choose based on the fear of being judged or to please others, we are prisoners. In my youth, I learned to always put the well-being of others before my own, until a moment in my adult life when everything fell apart around me.

At that very moment, I went to visit my inner self and began to realize that if I didn’t choose myself, I’d shut down completely.

A few decades later and here I am sharing my awarenesses on this notion of choosing oneself, with a few crucial points to consider.

Does choosing oneself mean fulfilling your personal preferences?
Like, for example, continuing to feed the ego that always wants more… more attention, more money, more prestige, more recognition etc.

Does choosing oneself mean demanding that others take care of us?
Like, for example, demanding that our loved ones look after us when we’re ill… or that our employees/colleagues perform for our personal gain.

Does choosing oneself mean that all our desires are always fulfilled?
Like, for example, needing X amount of money to feel secure or prosperous, taking what we want at the expense of others.

You see, in the years I’ve been talking about “choosing oneself”, I’ve heard and seen just about everything there is to say about it.

The growing popularity of “choose oneself”

I’m delighted to see that more and more people are taking a different position and sharing the notion of choosing oneself.

We can see that for some, choosing oneself means saying NO to many requests, while for others, choosing oneself means saying YES to all the ego’s desires and personal preferences.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHOOSING WITH THE HEART AND WITH THE EGO

There’s a clear difference between “choosing through the heart and choosing through the ego”.

CHOOSING ONESELF THROUGH THE EGO

The ego structure is a survival organism, always afraid of running out and always wanting more to satisfy itself. That’s why, every time we choose ourselves in this structure, the ego gets its dose of food to survive, and the next second, everything has to start all over again so as not to feel the emptiness.

It’s neither right nor wrong… it’s simply a statement of fact. However, it’s important to choose with awareness and clarity.

CHOOSING ONESELF THROUGH THE HEART

As for the HEART, it’s whole, complete, and perfect just as it is… it lives in total Plenitude and constantly feels the Pure Love that dwells within it. Every time we choose ourselves through the heart, it emanates Plenitude, i.e. Abundance in all its forms, and we feel so full!

It’s a choice that’s available to Humanity and fills our lives with such daily Joie de Vivre!

Question for you

After reading the brief description of the two options: choosing through the ego or the heart, how do you feel?

The answer may come quickly and clearly, or it may require a period of introspection… everything is perfect!

For my part, I went through all the various stages, of course… getting “trampled”, choosing myself with the ego to survive, choosing myself with the ego unknowingly thinking it was with the heart to finally choosing myself through the heart… until one moment when “choosing myself” wasn’t even part of my vocabulary or experience anymore, because I have the deep certainty that my Heart is always guiding me toward the highest expansion for myself and everyone involved.

The purpose of this article is to bring more clarity to your positioning and make a choice to align yourself differently, if choosing you through the heart resonates with you, of course.

An invitation from the Heart

What I invite you to do is simply to listen to what the great WISDOM of your HEART whispers to you in all Neutrality… and what if instead of saying NO or YES to certain specific things in REACTION, you started to MAKE Peace with ALL THAT IS and then BE at Peace with what Life presents to you?

Choosing yourself would simply become the manifestation of inhabiting your space with fluidity, simplicity, lightness… and CARE!
