What if Courage was simply a return to the era of the heart (heart-age)?

by Sylvie Olivier

Courage as we address it here is not as defined in dictionaries or valued in popular culture. It is a living, gentle, and profound Courage, rooted in Neutrality and animated by the wisdom of our hearts.

What if, instead of an effort of will, Courage was actually a vibrant reminder of our essence… a return to the heart-age?

Changing perspective: from fought courage to inspired Courage

In our culture, courage is often presented as a struggle. We must “roll up our sleeves,” face adversity, overcome trials, and never falter. This perspective values effort, resistance, and struggle as necessary conditions for success.

But if we look closer, this polarized courage lives in constant duality: courage vs. laziness, bravery vs. cowardice, action vs. inaction.

And this duality comes at a price. Yes, we sometimes achieve our goals… but at the cost of exhaustion, struggle, or the sacrifice of other essential aspects of our lives.

From struggle to Neutrality: heart intelligence in action

The real transformation came for me when I understood that polarity was not an obligation, but an unconscious choice that we perpetuate. I realized that I could stop swimming against the tide.

And that’s when Courage in Neutrality revealed itself: a gentle and powerful force that emerges naturally when we listen to our hearts.

In this posture, actions are no longer motivated by fear or pressure, but by inspiration, clarity, and appreciation for what is.

A heart-inspired lifestyle

Living the Courage of the Heart means living in alignment with our Ultimate Lifestyle. This does not mean inaction, but alignment.

It means:

  • Saying YES to our heart, even if our mind panics.
  • Taking the 18-inch journey from head to heart.
  • Taking one inspired action, instead of a thousand automatic ones.
  • Exploring, expressing, and honoring the Qualities of the Heart.
  • Exposing ourselves in our uniqueness with authenticity.
  • Recognizing the difference between the needs of the ego and the voice of the heart.
A lived experience, a shared wisdom

When my daughter was sick, I had to make choices that went against the norm. I was afraid, of course. But every time I consulted my heart, a deep peace emerged. It was not opposition to medical approaches, but an acceptance of everything that was available, in Neutrality.

I could have “fought”… but I chose to listen. And through this listening, obstacles lost their power, conflicts did not arise. It was not a struggle, but a dance with life.

The greatest act of courage: listening to your heart

The heart is not weak. It is immensely powerful, but this power is not loud. It is clear, stable, present.

So, what if every day, instead of reacting, you took a moment to consult your heart?

Even if, at first, you don’t know exactly how to tell the difference between the voice of the mind and the voice of the heart… practice leads to mastery.

Integration exercise: The Heart Dialogue

This exercise will assist you in recognizing the voice of your heart and cultivating this quiet courage in your daily life.

1. Create a quiet space

  • Find a peaceful place where you won’t be disturbed.
  • Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your back straight but relaxed.
  • Gently close your eyes… and take three deep breaths.
  • Let your breathing slow down naturally.

2. Bring your attention to your heart

  • Gently bring your awareness to your chest, to the center of your heart.
  • Imagine that you are breathing directly through your heart.
  • With each breath, feel the space in your heart open up a little more.
  • With each exhalation, release everything that isn’t required anymore.
  • Stay there for a few moments… simply being present, without forcing anything.

3. Ask a simple question

In this state of calm, mentally ask your heart a clear question, for example:

  • “What do you want to tell me today?”
  • “What direction is most aligned with me right now?”
  • “What can I choose now to honor my inner truth?”

Don’t wait for an immediate answer. Let the question sink in… like a seed you plant.

4. Listen

Observe or feel what emerges. It may be a sensation, a word, an image, a subtle emotion… or even a simple feeling of peace.

Your heart doesn’t always speak with words, but it always communicates with clarity.

If nothing seems to come, that’s fine too. Trust that the answer will come at the right time.

5. Give thanks and gently return

Before opening your eyes, thank your heart for its wisdom and presence.

Slowly return to the present moment, bringing with you this living connection… this quiet courage to walk in the company of your heart.

Conclusion: Returning to the heart-age

Courage of the heart is not a heroic posture or a show of strength. It is a gentle and powerful choice to live life fully, consciously, in Neutrality, in presence.

It is a return to our heart age, where everything becomes simple, fluid, true. It is a return to the “era of the heart” available to each and every one of us!

With love,
Sylvie
